Founded in 1996, Banfe has grown from a small local manufacturer of wood products to a specialized supplier of consumer horticultural products inclusive of wood mulch, soils and specialty products to independent retailers in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Northern Virginia. In 2008, the Banfe bagged products division was acquired by Coastal Supply of Dagsboro, Delaware and with a 2011 acquisition of Coastal Supply by Harvest Power (www.harvestpower.com), Banfe now is managed under the Harvest Power umbrella of companies.
Today under the guidance of Co-Presidents Joseph A. Kollock, III, and Steven W. Liffers, Banfe continues to expand in manufacturing, delivery efficiency, customer service and product innovation.

Co-President
Joe began his career in the mulch and soils industry in 1986 and has been responsible for Banfe strategic planning implementation of manufacturing expansion, Marketing, Human Resources and Sales. A lifelong environmentalist, Joe has developed the Company Vision that Banfe is synonymous with environmentally-responsible, world class horticultural products and services.
Steven W. Liffers
Co-President
Steve has spent his entire professional career in the soils and mulch industry. Responsible for the day-to- day operations of the organization, Steve works directly with Manufacturing and Operations, Customer Service, Marketing, Sales and Business Management. Steve’s industry knowledge provides exceptional leadership for staff, vendors and customers to provide gardeners the highest quality and most dependable products available.
David L. Day
Vice President Operations
David came to Banfe in 2008 after 12 years in manufacturing operations. David manages our 3 facilities in both raw product procurement as well as finished packaging. David has a major role in Inventory Control, Manufacturing and Forecasting. David also has daily involvement in meeting the Banfe Vision of being environmentally-responsible due to our sustainable beliefs and need to conserve natural resources.
Song Chang
Controller
Song began his career at Banfe in 2010 and has responsibility in financial management. Song has created many state of the art analysis tools that are used daily in the management of Inventory, Sales and Forecasting in addition to A/P, A/R and Human Resources. Song has a strong understanding of manufacturing and has implemented seamless methods to streamline our procedures.
Dave Devine
Sales Manager
Dave has a proven track record as a Product Manager and knows the intricacy of how to service and deliver products within a structured and disciplined environment. Dave has a strong horticultural background and is involved in Research and Development and marketing for all Banfe products. An avid gardener who gardens in a very sustainable manner. Dave brings 100% support to Banfe’s environmental vision.
Sue Schmulling
Customer Service Lead
Sue is our first in line to manage your order in-season and has a 360 degree view of all processes involving Orders, Shipping and Customer Service. With thousands of orders processed each year, Sue has familiarity with each order, and leads a team of 4 in providing exceptional service 24/7. Sue’s knowledge of the order and delivery process makes doing business with Banfe very easy and customers are appreciative of a thorough and efficient Customer Service Department.
Support Staff
Banfe has a very talented and skilled staff that supports both internal and external business dealings. A companies efficiency is measured daily by satisfied customers, and we believe our Transportation, Customer Service, IT, HR, Accounts payable/receivable, Safety and Inventory departments are the best in the business, because of our dedicated staff.
